臺南地區是臺灣開墾先驅，無論人文、史蹟、生活風俗、風土人情、產業經濟等皆有豐碩之資源。本資料庫為蒐藏研究臺南地區相關資料所成立之專業數位圖書館，旨在彙集臺南地區相關圖書文獻資料、多媒體資料、電子資料、文物等，涵括臺南食、衣、住、行、科技產業、人文研究、文學發展、藝術創作、文獻史料…等等各項資料，提供作為研究臺南完整的資料來源，藉此加速對臺南的發展。 臺南地區百年來關於食、衣、住、行、科技產業、人文研究、文學發展、藝術創作、文獻史料…等等各項資料，許多資料尚有瀕臨失傳之虞。建置專題數位化資料庫，對文化資產的保存將有重要指標意義。
