How to publish metadata of your database
Schema
Please look through the schema for checking what kind of data you can input.
Quick guide
- There are 10 required metadata for each database.
- URI
- Metadata Language
- Title
- (in metadata language)
- (in english)
- Keywords
- Description
- (in metadata language)
- (in English)
- Publisher
- (in metadata language)
- (in English)
- License
- If you put a non-open license in the license field, we strongly recommend that you fill out the contact field for letting people ask you for permission.
- In those 10 metadata, Keywords and Publisher can be multiple. You can use semicolon (;) as a delimiter.
Input inventory data
- Login to your Google Account (Those who cannot use Google services can publish csv directly. See "Publish csv directly" section)
- Access template and say "YES" to "Would you like a make copy of Institute 1?"
- Fill the form. Each column of the file is a data record. Maybe you think it is weird to use a spreadsheet vertically, but you'll find it is easier to input in this way. If you don't agree on this, here is the horizontal version. To move the cursor horizontally, you can press the TAB button. (Whichever OK for the integration process)
Share the link
(Quoted from Share files from Google Drive - Computer - Docs Editors Help and edited a bit.)You can send other people a link to your file so anyone on the internet with the link can use it. When you share a link to a file, your name will be visible as the owner of the file.
- At the top right, click Get shareable link.
- Next to "Anyone with the link," click the Down arrow Down.
- Copy and paste the link in an email to kameda [at] cseas.kyoto-u.ac.jp
You are done
After a while, I'll run a script to fetch your data and you will be able to search your data here. Hereafter, when you edit your metadata, your data will be fetched periodically.Publish csv directly
If you want to use your own tool or MS Excel, download the sample, edit, save as csv, upload somewhere and mail me the URL.
